Field Scientist

Originally from Illinois, Carly spent six years working around the country in a variety of habitats, from the swamps of Mississippi where she studied black bears to the Mojave Desert where she surveyed for desert tortoises. For her Master of Science degree in zoology at Southern Illinois University she studied disease and climate-change-induced range expansion in nine-banded armadillos. Throughout her time working in the wildlife field, Carly has had broad interests in mitigating human-wildlife conflict. In her free time, Carly enjoys camping, rock climbing, and sewing.
