ALEX D. BROWN, B.S.

Alex is a wildlife biologist with 20 years of professional experience in the San Joaquin Valley and Mohave Desert. As a child, Alex became enamored with plants and animals while living on his family’s small farm where he enjoyed staring at bugs, flowers, and the little “swimmy-doos” in puddles.

His collegiate life found him still staring at bugs, flowers, and swimmy-doos but also wrangling kangaroo rats, seeking blunt-nosed leopard lizards, and rehabilitating injured raptors as he earned his Bachelors in Biology from California State University, Bakersfield.

Alex continued his biological adventures

with California State University Stanislaus’s Endangered Species Recovery Program (ESRP), where he enhanced his previous abilities and added radio collaring and tracking San Joaquin kit fox to his skillset. From there he had the opportunity to conduct and lead protocol surveys for large renewable energy projects, transmission line projects, and various oil field activities. Alex also gained experience with Mohave ground squirrels while volunteering and working for Dr. Phil Leitner.

Alex has also performed protocol surveys for desert tortoise for various projects in the Mohave Desert. In his free time, Alex enjoys assisting his fiancée on her photography shoots, gardening, playing with his kids, and numerous outdoor adventures.
